“We use Cell Forte with IP-6 and Inositol because of its properties in reducing tumors,” said Reid Eckert, CNC, co-owner of Nutrition Direct, Tamarac, FL. “It’s an invaluable tool for people with cancer. We recommend it in extremely high doses of 18 to 24 capsules a day. I’d rather give a consumer a few bottles at a high dose then recommend 40 different products.”
Having the support of the medical community is an important aspect of providing solid information about immune support. Those interviewed for this article said the medical community is coming around to substances, such as medical mushrooms, plant sterols, and soybean formulas for use in helping patients who are immuno-compromised or suffering from cancer.
“We get most of our customers through word of mouth, referrals, or medical doctors,” said Eckert. “We work with about 10 doctors on a daily basis. We let doctors do what they are supposed to do, and we help with the side effects. I’m finding that doctors are more and more amenable to nutritional supplements because in the end the patient is the boss and any solution we can offer the patient is good.”
